Upon Reading A Difficult Poem © Shadi Shidrawi 2015 I reread it a couple of times It loomed the strings of my head And on occasion the triplet charm Consolidated the firearm I reread it a couple of times It tied my hands to my pocket In trusses and one locket Trying to understand what it displayed With single rhyme. with single rhyme with single rhyme whoa got it better after the first time poetic sparse mess filled thin air on agitated rambunctious I reread it a couple of times it unavailed the dungeons it let loose the dragon within it showed me how to harness. and on occasions you reread it like me to no one shall you ever say I reread it without dismay.

How Does a Poet Spend a Day? Golden Poems Category © Shadi Shidrawi 2015 Drifting drifting into sapphire Nectar from saps of twigs rhythmical by pattern A gaze into botanical botany bombing inside revealed meditation Repelling aches stratospheric incantations in cantankerous spasms of agitation. Where would a poet go? meet myriads of prophets Lo and behold without his nature still creates anew Without his lute grabs a flute mesmerizing ears to bloom Sips on his coffee morning delights wans at noon the charm of lunch in words Raves at sunset subsets to gloom tea and its remedy strengthens his loom. Drafting drafting thoughts eternally full of charm crafting nuances from languages forgotten.
